Creativity has always been a part of who I am, but what truly inspires my work is the joy of making others smile. I’ve always believed that a small gesture — a card, a message, a moment of connection — can brighten someone’s day in ways we don’t always see. That belief is the foundation of Heartfelt & Handmade by Mario, and it guides every card I create.

I come from a very large extended family — 90 first cousins — and staying connected with them has always been important to me. Life takes us in different directions, across cities, states, and miles, but I’ve found a simple, meaningful way to bridge that distance: sending cards through the mail. Cards you can hold. Cards you can cherish. Little surprises that arrive to brighten someone’s day to remind them that I’m thinking of them. That love for connection, for keeping in touch through the seasons of their lives, is at the heart of everything I make.

Every card I create is made by hand, one at a time, with intention and care. I pour my heart into each design because I know these cards become part of someone’s story — a birthday wish, a message of comfort, a celebration, or a memory that lasts. Life brings laughter, love, and sometimes loss, and my goal is to craft something that speaks to all of those moments with sincerity.

My inspiration comes from everyday life: the people I meet, the emotions we share, and the beauty found in simple acts of kindness. I love working with colors, textures, and layers that bring each card to life. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, and that uniqueness is what makes handmade art so special.

At the end of the day, I create because I want to spread joy, connection, and warmth across communities — the same way I’ve always done with my own family. If one of my cards brings a smile, offers comfort, or becomes a cherished keepsake, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
